A (smallish) raft of posts related to visual journalism.

  • Multimedia Mobile Assault Kit (full onslaught edition). Yikes: this is some equipment list. No word on how many folks it takes to lug all this stuff around. Makes me feel wimpy for carrying around a point-and-shoot, Zoom recorder and Flip video camera stuffed into my pockets.
  • Yahoo Video Improves Video Quality – 700kpbs. It’s getting easier to find high-end video delivery on the ‘net, which is nice. We had to jump through some hoops earlier this week to get a high-quality photo slideshow online at Wired Journalists.
  • The best of photojournalism 2008. They’re rolling out the winners of the annual NPPA competition. Plenty to be inspired by/steal from.
  • Verve Photo. A site created by Geoffrey Hiller “to feature photos and interviews by the finest young image makers today. Verve is a reminder of the power of the still image. Verve will also point you to new photo agencies, publications and inspiring multimedia projects.” I’m a big fan of Geoffrey’s work and there is some astonishing work here.
