Things I am very much enjoying today:
- Video technological problems won’t fly. Angela Grant passes along findings of a survey that says a significant part of the surfing audience will leave you alone if your video doesn’t play well. That should be common sense but, based on my own experiences, isn’t.
- An (interesting take on) the impact of editing. Andy Dickinson provides video fun (and education) is a shortish clip about the powers and perils of video editing.
- Citizen journalists share, don’t cover stories. More from the Journalism That Manners gathering in Washington, DC from Len Witt. Also: Confab mulls newsroom of the future at Mini Media Guy.
- What newspapers don’t do. After the outsourcing, what’s left at the core of the newspaper business?
- How ‘vs.’ thinking drags everyone down. Steve Safran has a required-reading piece that, at very least, should kick-off some deep thought and interesting conversations.
- Updating Journalism Education for This Century. Dan Gillmor is the latest to offer some advice about what journalism students (and not just journalism students) should be taught.
