Late today, for any number of reasons I won’t bore you with:
- Secrets of Harvesting Sound. Stewart Pittman gives away the secrets of doing video streeters. Much good advice and chuckles, too.
- Paper honours pioneer of gonzo journalism. Hunter S. is honoured in a special edition of the Aspen Daily News, edited by his widow and featuring work from the likes of Ralph Steadman. I’ll be in Boulder in a three weeks or so: here’s hoping I can rustle up a copy.
- Running for it: Covering an event with a cell phone and a point-and-shoot video camera. Ryan Sholin takes on a major running event — running, walking or jogging about 4.5 miles in the process — and lives to tell the tale.
- Year One: Digital Correspondent. An interesting look back at innovations in television news coverage: more cameras and crews on the streets, covering more stories and breaking the traditions of the tube.
- The second day of shooting. Mindy McAdams continues her report from video storytelling boot camp and includes much more practical advice.
- Movavi, the new online video converter. One more entry in the online video conversion field. I haven’t tried any of these services yet, but if I get some time in the next little while, I may put a few of them through the paces.
