A little late today.
- WJEC declaration of principles for journalism education – the backlash. Digging into the whys and wherefore’s of an international list of priniciples at the wonderfully named Ethical Martini. Interesting response to what is a fairly bland document.
- Association for Downloadable Media announced. A new group is working on advertising-related standards forr podcasts and the like.
- CBC’s Exposure. Canada’s national broadcaster jumps on the user-submitted video wagon and promises to put the best stuff on air. And yes, they’ll pay for those they broadcast.
- Help-Key: How to Optimize Your Video for YouTube. I’ll have to try their recipe. I’ve uploaded FLV format to both blip.tv and YouTube and seen noticeably lower quality when the clips are re-encoded at YouTube.
- The eleventh obvious thing: Your subscribers are dying. Ryan Sholin points to the flip side of last week’s report that young folk aren’t paying attention to the news.
- Back in California … Newspaper innovator Rob Curley answers 10 questions about himself and the industry.
- Mindset key to modernizing journalism. And speaking of Rob Curley, Tom Abate has a great post about what the lessons Curley is learning (and teaching) mean for journalism.
