As another week gracefully winds down:
- NewCorrespondent.com – multi-media reporting of Latin American journey. An interesting, three-month-long experiment in reporting via Flickr, Twitter and other such services by two British journalists.
- Putting commenters in context. Adrian Monck has run an experiment with comments that questions the value of comments.
- When Do You Stop The Presses? Jon Fine in Business Week ponders the possibility of the money-losing San Fransisco Chronicle being the best candidate to be the first newspaper to abandon print (and all those losses) for a leaner, lower-profit online-only operation. Given the current state of the industry, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched. Via Roy Greenslade, who has some comments on the matter.
- Multimedia for breaking news: Start doing it! Mindy McAdams and Melissa Worden both have interesting things to say about the need for newspapers to start using multimedia for breaking news. Follow the links.
- How Would You Build a Newsroom From Scratch? Mark Glaser asks the question in advance of a coming conference on Journalism That Matters. No suggestions in the comments yet, but worth keeping an eye on.
