I clicked on the link for PoducateMe, expecting a roundup of tips for using podcasting in education and instead found a whole freaking book, that’s valuable for more folks than just us educators.
PoducateMe.com is maintained and operated by Micah Ovadia at the University of Cincinnati and, according to the site’s About page:
Micah has spent more than a year writing the guide and building this Web site in his free time, with the hope that PoducateMe will help educators to explore and implement podcasting in the classroom. The guide is updated as needed, with revision dates and notes compiled on the PoducateMe blog.
The book is aimed at educators and covers the gamut of podcasting, including history, finding and using podcasts and creating your own. The technical information for creating your own podcast is exhaustive, right from planning the thing through the recording and encoding to having it hosted. The resource is incredible. It’s aimed at educators, but this is a podcasting guide for anyone: well-written, easy to read, and deep, deep, deep.
You can read the entire thing online or spend 20 bucks US for a printable PDF. And, as well as the book, the site has sections on hardware, software and prepackaged podcasting kits. Too sweet.
(Sorry, I lost track of where I found the link to this. If I rediscover it, I’ll add the source. Credit where credit is due and all that.)
