Here are a few more of the interesting things I’ve found on the ‘net lately, some media-related, some not:
- Ourmedia turns 2.0. The site has been redesigned and it’s not just cleaner, it makes the great content easier to find. I really need to spend more time there.
- What makes a good Podcast…tips and tricks. A nice, short post with some practical advice for making it sound good. Applies to online audio of any kind, including journalism.
- The Amazing Color Changing Card Trick. This is really tricky and instructive. I’m planning on showing this to my students when we talk about “eyewitness journalism.”
- The Encyclopedia of Life. I’m excited about the announcement of this project, to provide in-depth information on all 1.8 million species. PZ Meyers is skeptical.
- Some thoughts on journalists and the blogosphere. No startling conclusions here, but an interesting post that deals, in part, with the recognizing the power of experts.
And, with that, I have closed all of the browser windows I had open.

Yeah, I’m skeptical, but it’s not the dismissive “it’ll never work” kind of skepticism. It’s more a concern that they haven’t actually demonstrated a proof-of-concept yet, and it was probably highly premature to announce it.
