The state of journalism (or at least some notes on it) from today’s surfing:
- Can outing an anonymous blogger be justified? Paul McNamara at Network World digs into the case of the St. Augustine Record and a local blogger. The answer to the question, he says, is yes. It’s part of what journalists do. Via Slashdot.

- Economist Magazine Tests “Open System” — With Tom Sawyer Economics. Dan Gillmor likes some ideas floating at the Economist but doesn’t like terms of service that say, in effect, send us your ideas and,if we like them, we’ll use them without giving you much in return.
