Wrapping some browsing around the chores of the weekend:
- Confessions of a teenage fabulist. A confession, doubted by some of those in the comments, about making stuff up and getting good grades in journalism school. As interesting as the story is, it’s the reaction in the comments that make it fascinating. Via Now Public.
- And speaking of emergent transparency. Mark Federman with some thoughts on WikiLeaks, an online repository for leaked documents, and for leaking. David Weinberger has some questions and David Akin isn’t yet sure about the concept.
- Verizon to offer hyper-local TV. Inviting HD video submissions for broadcast: citizen journalism meets YouTube? Via Steve Rubel.
- NYT Co. cuts 125 jobs. The layoffs, at the company’s New England Media Group, appear to include about 40 editorial employees.
- TVJersey: Ya gotta problem with that?. Jeff Jarvis reports on a New Jersey newspaper that’s starting a TV station on a blog, pulling in staff-created stuff and feeds from YouTube. There is no way that sentence would have made any sense two years ago. See also: Mindy McAdams.

One thing hasn’t changed, though: It’s all about building community.
Now I’ll go back to blogging about being a newspaper editor helping to run a TV station on a blog using YouTube.
