- A Blogger Who’s a Court-Approved Journalist. Not sure how I missed this. It’s an important Canadian court ruling.
- Video killed the television star. Howard Owens writes something I’ve ben urging: newspaper video reporting should set its own standards, not rely on video as defined by TV journalism. Via Angela Grant.
- College Pictures of the Year. The winning images from the 61st College Photographer of the Year competition. Amazing work. Via A Photo a Day, where Mellisa Lyttle writes, “I’m so glad I’m not graduating from college right now, the level of passion and talent out there is incredible, and the competition is going to be tough for internships and jobs.”
- What would techies do with a newspaper? First, they’d make it all digital. USA Today piece finds some ideas for reinventing newspapers, but writer Kevin Maney was also surprised to discover, “These tech folks don’t really have any radical, interesting ideas for newspapers.” Via Hart Up North.
