I couldn’t find anything about this in my local quality daily, but the Globe & Mail is reporting that Vancouver’s daily newspaper circulation continues to shrink. According to the G&M report, Vancouver Sun weekday circulation is down 4.4 per cent over the past six months, while the numbers have dropped 2.6 per cent at the tabloid Vancouver Province.
The Province decline more or less matches the overall industry decline; the Sun’s is higher.
I don’t know for sure, but I suspect that the falling numbers represent a couple of things: the overall trend to fewer newspaper readers and the presence of three free dailies in the city.
