A few posts at the end of a long day, nearing the end of a long week:
- Timket in Addis. Andrew Heaven, a journalist working in Ethiopia, has a wonderful set of photos at Flickr from an annual Ethiopian Orthodox Christian celebration.
- The Center’s Mission(s). Dan Gillmor expands on some of the ideas behind his new Center for Citizen Media.
- The end of coverage (redux). David Weinberger’s musing on the end of the concept of coverage from the other day has drawn some interesting comments. Worth a read and a think.
- Want to e-Mail a ‘NY Times’ Columnist? Better Subscribe to TimesSelect. Locking columnists behind a paywall may make some sense, but cutting off email access? Weirdness, reported by Editor & Publisher, discovered at Morph
- Primary Instability Paradox. An Andrew Cline essay on political reporting that I’ve added to my to-be-read list, based on the excerpt at Andrew’s site.

I just discovered similar to the NYTimes locking the email addresses of their columnists behind the paywall. If you want to ‘Follow the Conversation’ at the bottom of any of The Globe and Mail articles you have to register. Guess which ‘conversation’ I won’t be following?
