Citizen Journalism
One of the issues at the centre of the debate over the convergence of media is the issue of control. The media, for better or worse, has emerged as the gatekeeper for information, applying a set of principles and skills to the events of the world (large and small) and then passing some of those events on to its readers/watchers/scanners/etc.
It’s called OhMyNews, a vastly popular Korean web site that depends for a lot of its content on what it calls “citizen journalists” — ordinary people covering the news
