According to the CTV News, the City of Vancouver, which is cutting its spending, will shell out $300,000 for Olympic tickets, and the provincial government, also cutting, is spending $1 million on tickets. And one federal government ministry has spent $447,000 on tickets.

These are three of the many governing bodies in the province and the country. I wonder how much money is being funneled into the Winter Olympics for tickets by city governments, school boards, Crown corporations, etc. We’ll have no clear idea of how many tax dollars are subsidizing the Olympics until that story gets researched and written.

Earlier: A Vancouver Olympic story I’d pay to read.
