A few more things have popped into the feedreader that might by worth your attention.

  • The year 2008 in photographs (part 1 of 3). The first 40 photos of boston.com’s The Big Picture’s look back at the year are up and they are, as you’d expect, astonishing. The Big Picture gets my vote as media development of the year.
  • Would you miss newspapers if they stopped publishing? There are some interesting points made in the lengthy list of comments that follow the question. As always, there is also a large number of posts that reduce the newspaper to politics.
  • Death of the embargo. Mike Arrington at TechCrunch is taking on PR firms, which he says are out of control. His announcement: “From this point on we will break every embargo we agree to.” Should be fun to watch.
  • New Media, New Censorship Concerns. Thought-provoking piece at Media Bistro about the risk to the freeflow of information that will come with the online world. Definitely something that needs more discussion.
