Okay, crowd, I’m in need of wisdom.
Which is better: Technorati tags, which I have been using, or the tags baked into WordPress.
Update: Thanks to Roland and Timon for their comments, the result of which is that I’m settling on WordPress tags. I’m currently launched on the retagging of my old posts (3,400 of them). We’ll see how far I get before realizing the utter futility of the exercise.
Update 2: So far, have retagged 180 of 3,400 posts. This may not get finished this week/month/year, but it is an interesting run through this blog’s past.

Have to agree with Roland, also when I checked the tags on technorati just now for your site, I got a lot of spam. WordPress tags will be easily retrievable and useful, you could throw together your own recent tag tracker with a few lines of code. Technorati also professes to possess a proprietary xml format, never a good sign.
wordpress tags because technorati tags are proprietary and technorati is fading!
