My lord. John Lehmann, the Vancouver-based photographer and (increasingly) videographer for the Globe & Mail, just keeps getting better. His latest mini-doc is a well-told story from a recent gathering of ETAs — Elvis Tribute Artists.
I like everything about this: story, pacing, interviews, editing and ending. Sure, it’s 7:50 long, but that’s how long it takes to tell this story. (Disclosure: I also like the fact that John took one of my students along as an assistant and provided her with a great inside view of how he does his journalism.)
John, like most of the shooters out there, is relatively new to video but he’s come far, fast. Look and learn. I did.
