The Quesnel Observer, a smalltown newspaper in central B.C has published some amazing video footage of a snowboarder being buried in a small avalanche and then dug out by friends.
It’s compelling, raw video, weakened because someone decided it needed a rock song as a soundtrack. The video was shot by Amy van Vugt, sister-in-law of the near-victim. If the video came into the newspaper with the soundtrack, someone should have used some editorial discretion and stripped it out. If the newspaper added the soundtrack, yikes.
