I made a rookie mistake yesterday but, as I’m a rookie when it comes to video storytelling, I figure that’s okay.
I’ve come back from a three-hour boat cruise of Indian Arm, mounted by the Land Conservancy, with a camera full of video clips. Some of them are not bad at all and a lot of them would make for great bits of a video story.
The problem is, I forgot to shoot the story. I’ve come back without a narrative thread that pulls them all together. So I have a folder full of clips and, at the moment, no idea of what to do with them.
I’m not terribly upset. After all, I got to spend three hours cruising through some spectacular scenery, for a worthy cause. And there is a story here. I just have to find it.
Caution: The Indian Arm link above goes to a Google map that includes a video clip, which has been rather poorly encoded by YouTube. Trust me: the original is much better and, when I have some time, I’ll try to replace it.
