User reports are coming in from Mac users and some of them aren’t impressed with the new version of iMovie which looks intriguing but, it seems, requires more processing power and has fewer features than the older versions of the program.

UPDATE: I’ve read a few more reviews of the new iMovie and am less and less impressed. It seems Apple has taken what was a competent (although limited) video editing program and turned it into a quick-and-easy (more limited) generator for YouTube content. That’s fine: it’s probably all that the majority of folk need in a video editor but the current iMovie HD seems better suited for more serious editing at the low-end of the scale.

UPDATE 2: On the other hand, there are some raves for the new adjustment tools in iPhoto: levels, noise reduction, shadow and highlight controls and more.
