Lots of video-related news on the ‘net today, mostly about two new “channels” and the promise of another to come.
Nomadsland is an intriguing video site, featuring documentaries, travelogues and other video stories, available to watch on-screen or rent or buy. Some of the available footage is complete stories; others are previews. I’ve sampled a few, and Nomadsland shows a lot of promise as a site for quality video storytelling.
Meanwhile, Mathew Ingram, in his post Hollywood still looking for online video hits, points to two sites (one live, one promised) from the pros. 60frames.com is a press release and a shell of a site at the moment, but MyDamnChannel.com is up and running with some great content and well-known folks on-screen, including Harry Shearer and Don Was. This is one worth watching, in both senses of the word.
At the rate these sites are being rolled out, I suspect I’m not the only one who’ll be spending more time with computer and less with the TV for both entertainment and information.

Coolness. Thanks for the tip.
