A little light weekend reading:
- Update 1: More answers about our Facebook app and some thoughts on the techie stuff behind it. Rob Curley provides details on the Washington Post’s Facebook app, The Compass, and makes the argument that more news organizations should be building a presence on Facebook. Agreed.
- NFL wants PJs as unpaid billboards. Mark Hancock weighs in on the NFL’s plan to brand photojournalists with what may be a more effective strategy than tackling the NFL: take the complaints straight to Canon.
- Medill Revamps Journalism Program. Len Witt reports Medill is set to launch its controversial new journalism program. This caught my attention: “All students have to buy their own laptops, software, video iPods, and digital camcorders, which cost about $3,600, the article adds.”
- More reporting from video boot camp. Mindy McAdams continues to share the wealth from her time at the (very expensive) Travel Channel Boot Camp.
- Four Docs Video Tutorials. There are better tutorials on video out there, but this set covers a lot of the basics of documentary fairly well, although in a once-over-lightly way.
