Continuing on the theme of things that annoy me, this announcement that Puretracks, the music purchase-and-download system will be available for Mac owners, has been up at their site since at least mid-February. Five months doesn’t qualify as “very soon.”

To be charitable to Puretracks, they may mean audio tracks that are not DRM’d in a way that ipods can’t work with. Just the same, 5 months isn’t soon and a download is just a download when it’s done right.
The problem is the complete lack of Web standards on the Puretracks site. They don’t need a “download manager”; they just need to set up a form correctly.
Oh: “which can be played on a iPod”?
Amateur and half-arsed as ever. Must be Canadian.
