A few links to try and clear out the news reader (although the thing just keeps filling itself up):

  • Hey!Spread: Centralized Multi-Point Video Uploads. A one-stop site for spreading your video all over the web.
  • Rules for Video on the Internet. Some commonsense rules at Multimedia Shooter.
  • Vuvox. I haven’t tried this online tool/service yet, but after poking around the site, it looks like it has interesting potential for creating visual stories.
  • Covering communities. This is a nice, deep website with a ton of stuff about doing journalism, aimed at journalists, educators, students and citizen journalists. Bookmarkable.
  • Training Oneself to Notice. Here’s an interesting optical illusion but, as fun as it is to play with, the message is about the way we see the world and the ability to train ourselves to it differently. This is one of several things I’ve seen/read recently that have me wondering if the factor that makes a handful of visual journalists truly exceptional is that they literally see more than the rest of us.
