For your entertainment and education, a collection of links to videos for those with time on their hands:

  • The impotence of spellchecking. This is particularly funny to me because I am such a bad typist. Via Doug Fisher.
  • 14th World Editors Forum: discover everything you missed! A load o’ links to YouTube videos from the recently held-forum (scroll to bottom for video links).
  • Pegasus News on how to do citizen media. J.D. Lasica with a 13-minute interview with Mike Orren of the intriguing Pegasus News. The index on the page also has J.D.’s many, many videos with new media folk. Via Howard Owens.
  • Blueprint for Gannett’s future. This is from April, but I finally had the chance to watch the full Innovations in College Media interview with Jennifer Carroll of Gannett. It’s long (20 mines) and could have used an edit, but there’s good stuff there about what’s driving Gannett’s Information Centre innovations.
  • Katy Chronicles. The first story is up at Storybridge.tv, the web-based effort by two former broadcast journalists to go beyond the constraints of the TV newscast.

Related (in words):

  • Digital Director. This relatively short post is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of offering tips and guidelines for shooting video stories.
  • Visual Hub. A new version of the video conversion software is out. At $23.32 US, it’s probably worth taking a look at. I’ve fooled around with earlier versions, and the results of converting a format such as avi to Flash are quite good.
