Monday on the net, so far:
- Update 1: Video infographic on internet porn. The video may be mildly offensive to some, but the concept of video infographics bears thinking about.
- Update 2: Print will survive, but the future of daily journalism is digital. Mark Bowden has advice for young journalists: learn how to use a digital video camera.
- SETX Wakeboard Classic. Mark Hancock, the Beaumont, Texas photojournalist whose work and blog I’ve long admired, has started to add video to his storytelling repertoire.
- Brunswick News Channel. I’m not a big fan of newspapers doing TV-like web casts, but the Burnswick News is interesting: the newspaper uses its web site to deliver the only TV news show in the Georgia city. Al Tompkins has an interview with editor Josh Rayburn in his Morning Meeting at Poynter (scroll down).
- Building conceptual bridges to a new media world. Interesting post by Jon Udell, prompted by Ryan Sholin’s work, that suggests it’s possible to take away some of the fear of and resistance to the demand for new media skills. Nice stuff in the comments, too.
- Best-designed newspaper Web sites. At the Visual Editors forum, Elaine Helm asked for examples and the community responded, with plenty ‘o links.
