Before I disappear into a maze of unfinished projects, I thought I’d pass these along:
- Text messages to boost newspaper sales. Juan Antonio Giner points to a report on an interesting marketing ploy: the Trinity Mirror newspapers in England are hoping to push sales with SMSes to readers.
- Newsroom integration in Latin American newspapers. Also from Juan, some stats from South American newspapers, including this: 74% intend to integrate print and online operations.
- Tears of shame: Shame on us. Dennis Dunleavy on the controversial Time magazine’s tearful Reagan. Short version: truth becomes a causality of commerce.
- Why Online Advertising Economics Are So Messed Up. Scott Karp says web sites are practically giving away the advertising, which doesn’t bode well for anyone other than the top players.
- Would we have written she’s a troll? Doug disses some in the media, including NPR, for deciding that what Valerie Plame looks like is an important part of her story.
- Sound Studio 3.5 Adds Numerous Features. In the tools category, another piece of audio recording and editing software that Mac users might want to take a peek at.
