Interesting items from a Friday morning’s RSS reading:
- MIT Lecture Browser. A new page at MIT is interesting on several levels. One is that you can search video lectures and seminars at MIT that have been indexed by automatic speech recognition technology. The other is that you can play what it finds from the relevant point in the video and follow along with a synchronized transcript. Via Ponto Media.
- Journalism websites. An amazingly long and comprehensive list of journalism-related websites from the Committee of Concerned Journalists.
- New USAToday.com Pulling 5,000 Daily New Members, Some Grumble. USA Today’s move to a community-focussed web site seems to be paying off, although we’ll have to see what the state of things is in six months or so.
- Newspaper video: Guardian to spend a million on web video. Could this be the moment when newspaper video goes pro?
