I’ve spent part of the evening playing with Simpleviewer, a nice little bit of (free) programming that makes creating a thumbnail driven online photo gallery easy. Results of my first run through the program feature a few photos from the holiday season visit to Hawaii.
The process is simple: size the photos and a related thumbnail in PhotoShop, type a few details and captions into an included xml file and then upload the whole folder to your web server. According to the FAQ at the Simpleviewer site, the presentation is highly customizable, something I’ll have to test when I have more time.
Nice programming. Great price.
I found Simpleviewer through the increasingly invaluable Multimedia Shooter.
UPDATE: Somehow, when trying to edit one of the source files for the slideshow, I seem to have broken things, and the page is no longer detecting the Flash plugin. I’ll try to get this fixed up over the next day or so.
