Found while surfing, between bursts of classroom prep:
- Geriatric prisoners. A very nice set of photographs of aging prisoners in Texas from Mark Hancock, presented as part of his blog. It shows you don’t need slideshows or other presentation devices to tell a good story.
- The silliest, and most destructive, debate in journalism. Robert Niles at Online Journalism Review not only decries the pro vs. citizen journalism debate, he provides an excellent example of how the two could have worked together. Interesting and instructive.
- Multimedia shooter. A new website that picks up where Joe Weiss and Andrew Devigal left off. With both Joe and Andrew busy with new work, their websites, Interactive Narratives and Multimedia Storytelling, have been quiet. Richard Hernandez and the Multimedia Shooter team take over, combining links to good online media with tools, techniques and tutorials. Via Mindy McAdams.
- UK Newspaper Video : Starting an Overview. Andy Dickinson provides a very nice overview of the use of video by newspapers in the UK. We’ve clearly moved beyond the question of whether newspapers should be using video into the realm of how they use. The take-up of video by newspapers has been one of the fastest changes I’ve ever seen in journalism.
