Prompted by an invitation from eMusic to submit my choices for the top 5 albums of the year, I’ve come up with a list of my 12 favourite albums from 2006. The designation is arbitrary: some of the CDs were released earlier than this year. Some weren’t available before 2006; others I didn’t discover until this year.
Warning: I listen almost exclusively to music from areas of the world other than North America, usually in languages I don’t speak. All my choices fit in the world music category.
