Here’s my latest finds in the big, wide world of the ‘net. Note: My teaching schedule isn’t allowing me to post as often as I’d like, but I’ll have squibs as often as I can find time for.
- Q&A with Travis Fox, video journalist for washingtonpost.com. In-depth, thoughtful, illuminating — I could teach a whole semester on online media with this interview as the starting point. Highly recommended as both a snapshot of where we are and a look at where we’re going. UPDATE: Mindy McAdams adds a link to Fox’s own article on web video.
- The Times Thinks Outside the Browser. Jack Shafer pens a love letter to the new Microsoft-powered New York Times Reader that — almost — makes me want to run out and buy a Windows XP box.
- Remixing media. Tech Crunch has not one, but two stories on the blurring of lines between traditional and new, as ABC partners with YouTube in a battle of the bands, and Yahoo and CurrentTV agree to swap and share content. Interesting times.
- Daily Mail web traffic soars. Media Guardian reports the secret to the Daily Mail’s impressive web traffic growth — the publishing company started taking the internet seriously.
