I’m not sure what these numbers mean, but I find them interesting in an odd sort of way.

There are a total of 235 comments on the various posts at this blog, written over the past two and a half years; today my spam filter reported “2146 comment spams caught since the last digest report 1 day ago.”

Technorati’s report on this blog says “Rank: 33,491 (341 links from 81 blogs),” which is interesting because a couple of days ago I was in the mid 25,000s and I had links from 92 sites. Alexa, meanwhile, reports there are 146 sites that link to this blog and my traffic ranking is 2,113,561. The good news is that that’s up 813,151 places, although I’m not sure since when. (I realize Alexa and Technorati rank differently, which explains the 2.1 million spread between the two numbers. I think.)

According to Google Analytics, I had 109 site visitors who viewed 167 pages yesterday. According to Sitemeter I had 124 visitors and 183 page views, which is 14 per cent more visitors but only nine per cent more page views.

Lessons? Spam Karma 2 is an effective assassin of spam, ego-surfing Alexa is not that good for the ego, and I’m like Sitemeter’s numbers better than Google’s.
