Back from a short vacation and eager to dive back into the mediasphere, which has so far tossed up these:
- Tribune CEO Fights to Break Company Slump. A Wall Street Journal article that provides a fascinating look at what a modern media company faces and what it needs to do for survival.
- Newspapers woo bloggers with mixed results. Greg Sandoval at CNET with a look at blogging and newspapers, with both the good and the bad.
- Yo Chicago. Interesting website that mixes real estate (sales, rentals, etc.) with journals, forums and other community-building tools. An impressive site that, if it spreads, offers a threat to newspaper new homes and real estate advertising. Via the Local Onliner and Online Journalism.com.
- Redfin To Change the Rules of Real Estate Sales. Combine this Tech Crunch article with the one above and the threat broadens, taking in real estate agents as well as advertising media.
