Back to the ‘net after a quiet weekend.
- Readers converted by new formats. I’m always a little leery of studies that claim to plumb something as a vague as “readership” but there’s surely some good news — and maybe some lessons — here for reinvented British newspapers.
- McClatchy Absorbing (Most of) Knight Ridder. Lots of internet comment on the sale of Knight Ridder and what it means, and Dan Gillmor’s piece is among the best of it.
- Rhetoric 2.0? Tom Abate with some interesting thoughts on journalism’s tattered rep.
- State of Journalism report is a dud. Terry Heaton is not impressed with the latest State of the News Media report. (Reading the full report is on my to-do list for this week.)
- Seeders of Clouds: Latest on Newspaper Blogging. Jay Rosen looks harder at newspaper blogs — whys and hows — in his latest PressThink post. There’s some overlap with a long post on blogging I’m working on; Jay’s post is better.
