I have no idea what the significance, if any, of this is:
CanWest Invests In New Republic.
Staci at Paid Content quotes CanWest CEO Leonard Asper as saying, “Of special interest is The New Republic’s vast library of content and ambitious and increasingly successful web site, TNR.com, which already commands a large audience from quality readers.”
That confuses me even more, given CanWest’s approach to web sites, which appears based almost entirely on monetizing repurposed print content. Curious.
