Not being an A-list blogger (is it too soon to be talking about MSB — mainstream bloggers?), I wasn’t among the 7,000 people who got invitations to play with the beta of the new news site Newsvine. But there’s plenty of ‘net buzz about it and the early reviews are positive.

(Some of the reviews: Hypergene Media Blog, Reinventing College Media and MicroPersuasion. There are many more, but these will get you started.)

Newsvine seems to have a lot going for it besides buzz: user participations in everything from rating news to writing it, interactivity, aggregation and the ability to make money over your stuff.

I’m not sure when the site will be more widely available, but based on what I’m reading it seems to be a substantial step ahead of most of the web 2.0 news sites that have so far developed.
