We’ve had lots of examples of striking or locked-out print journalists putting out their own newspapers, but I suspect this is a first: CBC employees aren’t just walking picket lines, they’re podcasting their side of the story. The first podcast has gone up at CBCunplugged.com.
That ‘cast features “Terry, Barbara, Vanessa and other CBC Radio employees from Fredericton” in a seven-minute piece from the streets, where the locked-out radio folk explain their understanding of the situation. As you’d expect, the production values are much higher than you’ll find in a lot of podcasts. (The CBC Unplugged pod feed is here.)
The web site also features links a number of blogs being written by those who are off-air at the moment. Nice creativite use of the new mediascape.
