April 24 and 25 are the dates for this year’s Northwest Writers Workshop. Benefits: it’s close, it’s cheap ($70 US for students) and it’s mightly inspirational.
The lengthy roster of confirmed speakers has some great names on it, including Jacqui Banaszynski (Pulitzer Prize winner 1988; finalist 1986), Don Bartletti (Photographer, The Los Angeles Times; Pulitzer Prize winner 2003), Eric Nalder (Investigative Reporter, San Jose Mercury News; Pulitzer Prize winner 1990 and 1997; finalist 1992); Joshua Micah Marshall (Writer, The Washington Monthly and talkingpointsmemo.com); and Chip Scanlan (The Poynter Institute).
